Personal Jurisdiction Established over French Jet Manufacturer In Arkansas

The United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit in St. Louis, Missouri, in a ground breaking product liability action, held that  GMN&P partners, William F. Mills and Scott R. Melton, successfully proved personal jurisdiction over French Jet Manufacturer, Dassault Aviation, in Arkansas.  Melton convincingly argued before the court in St. Louis that the French manufacturer had more than sufficient contacts with the State of Arkansas to require Dassault to defend its product, a Dassault Falcon business jet, in the action that had been filed on behalf of his client in the United States District Court in Little Rock, Arkansas.  The published 8th Circuit opinion can be found at Anderson v. Dassault Aviation, 361 F.3d 449 (8th Cir. 2004).
